ASTROSUTRAA — PRIVACY POLICY

Thank you for your interest in AstroSutraa and welcome to our website and mobile application (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how GuruSutraa Solutions Private Limited (“AstroSutraa”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal information when you use our Services.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.

This Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and other applicable laws.

1) Who We Are & Scope

We operate astrosutraa.com and related apps providing astrology related content and consultations (audio/video/chat/pooja/reports) (the “Services”). This Policy applies to all users of the Services.

Unless we state otherwise, AstroSutraa is the controller of your personal data for the purposes described here (except where we act as a processor on behalf of a business customer).

2) Key Definitions

  • Personal Data: Information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Processing: Any operation performed on Personal Data (collection, storage, use, disclosure, etc.).
  • AI Features: Any functionality using artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML), including horoscope generation, interpretations, Q&A/chat assistants, summaries, translations, insights, and recommendations.
  • Third Party Tools: External vendors that provide advertising, affiliate, analytics, user engagement/experimentation, mobile measurement & attribution (MMPs), security/fraud prevention, payments, and AI capabilities.

3) Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide

  • Registration & Profile: Name, email, mobile number, address, date of birth, gender, and other details prompted during sign up.
  • Birth Details & Questions: Date/time/place of birth and questions you ask for generating charts and interpretations.
  • Communications: Messages you send us; support requests; feedback.
  • Payments: Limited payment information (e.g., tokens from payment gateways). We do not store your full card numbers after tokenisation.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage & Device: IP address, device identifiers, OS/app version, time zone, language, pages/screens viewed, events, crash logs, and diagnostic data.
  • Approximate Location: Derived from IP or device settings (if enabled by you).
  • In App Behaviour: Engagement and feature usage to improve relevance and quality.

3.3 Sensitive Data Caution

Please avoid sharing sensitive personal data (e.g., health info, government IDs, financial account numbers, passwords). If you choose to provide such data for a feature, it will be handled per this Policy and may be shared with Third Party Tools supporting that feature (see Section 6 & 7).

4) How We Use Personal Data

We process Personal Data to:

  • provide and operate the Services (including AI Features);
  • personalise content and recommendations;
  • arrange consultations and deliver reports;
  • improve safety, quality, and performance; debug and prevent abuse/fraud;
  • perform analytics, research, and product enhancement;
  • support advertising/affiliate programmes (including measurement and attribution);
  • communicate with you about updates, security alerts, support, and promotional messages (you may opt out of marketing at any time);
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Legal bases (examples): performance of a contract; our legitimate interests (to provide, secure, and improve the Services); consent (e.g., marketing/certain optional features); and compliance with law.

5) Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use first party and third party cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to deliver the Services, remember your preferences, analyse usage, measure marketing, and enhance security.

Categories may include: strictly necessary; performance/analytics; functionality; advertising/affiliates; security/fraud prevention.

Microsoft Clarity & Microsoft Advertising (Disclosure)
We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products/services. Website usage data is captured using first and third party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising. Tip: You can control cookies from your browser/app settings and, where available, via platform specific privacy controls (e.g., iOS/Android advertising settings). Some features may not function if certain cookies/SDKs are disabled.

6) Third Party Tools We Use (Advertising, Affiliates, Analytics, Engagement, MMPs, Security)

We may share limited data with Third Party Tools that help us:

  • Advertising & Re marketing (ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping);
  • Affiliate & Partner Networks (attribution and commission tracking);
  • Analytics & Product Enhancement (traffic, performance, UX improvements);
  • User Engagement/Experimentation (A/B tests, surveys, messaging);
  • Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) (attribution, anti fraud, campaign performance);
  • Security & Abuse Prevention (fraud detection, bot prevention);
  • Payments & Billing (payment gateways, wallet top ups).

These providers act as processors or independent controllers depending on the service and context. We require appropriate contractual safeguards where applicable. Review each provider’s privacy information for details and opt out mechanisms.

7) AI Features — Additional Disclosures

When you use AI Features, we may transmit your Inputs (e.g., birth details, questions, preferences) and relevant context to Third Party AI Tools (e.g., Google Gemini, OpenAI, DeepSeek) to generate Outputs.

  • Nature of Processing: AI generated content is probabilistic and may be inaccurate or outdated. Do not rely on Outputs for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, mental health). You are responsible for evaluating Outputs.
  • Data Categories: Identity/profile, birth details, general location, device/usage, demographics (if provided), in app behaviour, and the questions you ask. Avoid sensitive data unless strictly necessary.
  • Sharing with AI Providers: Providers may log/store prompts/outputs and, in certain tiers, allow human review to improve quality. Data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your own. We do not control their independent processing; review their terms/policies before use.
  • International Transfers: See Section 9.
  • Retention: We retain data as needed to provide the Services; AI providers may have their own retention policies.

8) Sharing & Disclosures

We may share Personal Data with:

  • Service Providers/Vendors supporting the purposes in Sections 4–7 (under confidentiality and security obligations);
  • Payment processors to complete transactions (we do not store full card data after tokenisation);
  • Affiliates within our corporate group (for the purposes outlined here);
  • Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, safety, and security; respond to lawful requests;
  • Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets;
  • With your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell Personal Data. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and offer any required choices.

9) International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries that may have different data protection laws (including the United States, EU/EEA, India, and others). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) or obtain your consent.

10) Data Retention

We retain Personal Data for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type and context.

11) Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use caution when sharing information and keep your Login Information confidential.

12) Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict/object, withdraw consent, opt out of marketing, port data, and/or appeal certain decisions. To exercise rights, contact support@astrosutraa.com. We may verify your identity and may decline requests subject to exemptions.

Marketing choices: You can opt out of promotional emails/SMS/WhatsApp at any time (instructions are included in the messages). You will still receive essential transactional or service messages.

13) Children

Our Services are not intended for users under 18. If you believe a minor has provided Personal Data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

14) Links to Third Party Platforms

Our Services may contain links to third party websites/apps which are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices. Review their policies before using those services.

15) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Changes will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes may be notified by additional means. Your continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Policy.

16) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India. Alternatively, we may elect arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in New Delhi, in English, by a sole arbitrator. Interim relief may be sought from a competent court in New Delhi.
